Codes of Practice

In order to ensure good, ethical practice we annually renew our accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Membership necessitates strict adherence to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. For further details please visit the BACP website.

Accredited counsellors are also required to engage in regular clinical supervision and on-going, evidenced professional development. This ensures high standards and integrity of practice.

The emotional and mental wellbeing of our clients is very important to us. We aim to engage with people in a way that is personally meaningful, highly respectful yet challenging when required. The fundamental values that we uphold include a commitment to ensuring the dignity and safety of our clients, working with personal and professional integrity, aiming to help our clients to achieve their best in their relationships, work and social activities.

We value people equally, appreciating the differences that cultural, ethnic, sexual, gender and religious backgrounds bring. Personal experiences of age, disability, difference and life experiences add richness to all.

All Five Valleys Counselling Practice staff have current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
